Narpavi Traditional White Rice – Thanga Samba/தங்கச் சம்பா
- Thanga Samba (Raw Rice): Fine and long variety used in the preparation of special dishes like pulav and also for making South Indian meals.
- High in protein – 82.7gm / kg. Also high in minerals like potassium and iron. Very high in calcium. This variety is known to increase the longevity of human beings and improves complexion.
- Cooking Instructions: An ideal south indian table variety. Can also be used to make pulav. The ratio of rice to water is 1:2.5 and number of whistles can be 4. The texture is fine. Note : The instructions given above are for cooking in pressure cooker and not in an electric rice cooker (water quantity should be increased if it is in rice cooker). Full whistles in a pressure cooker (in high flame) and switch off immediately after that.
